FixCyprus: Mobile App for Reporting Road Network Issues in Cyprus

FixCyprus is a mobile application developed by KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence for reporting problems in the road network infrastructure that affect road safety in Cyprus. The app allows registered citizens to create reports with photos, location, and comments highlighting issues related to road safety like damages, vandalism, and other risks to infrastructures. Once a report is created, it is automatically sent to the corresponding district office of the Public Works Department (PWD) based on the location of the report. The district offices of the PWD evaluate the reports on a web portal and assign the repairing tasks to the responsible authorities.

This integrated solution aims to reduce the need for regular road network inspections by using technologies such as geographical information systems, mobile applications, and the internet for a quick response from maintenance authorities. The citizens and government can communicate better through this application, which also increases road safety in Cyprus. The app users can track the status of their reports through the app's report history.
